Julia Laforge is the Policy and Campaign Manager for Protected Areas. Originally from Treaty 6 territory in Saskatchewan, Julia has been working on sustainable agricultural policies for over a decade with a particular interest in new farmers. Growing up where the Prairies meet the Boreal forest inspired her to consider the importance of how farming and nature interact.

Julia has a research and academic background, but has always engaged in community-led initiatives that promote social justice and protect the environment.

In her spare time, Julia plays Ultimate (frisbee), does martial arts, and gardens with her family.
