Autumn Jordan

Urban Nature Organizer

Autumn joined Nature Canada in May of 2021 as a summer student while completing her Masters degree at Trent University in Bioenvironmental Monitoring and Assessment. She now organizes our national program Bird Friendly Cities to help raise awareness and advocate for safer built environments for wild birds from coast to coast.

Growing up in Muskoka on the unceded traditional territories of the Anishnabeg, Objibway and Chippewas, Autumn developed a deep love and appreciation for the natural world. From a young age, she knew she wanted to act as a voice for nature. After moving to Ottawa, they realized the urgent need to reimagine how urban environments can become a gateway to nature advocacy, even within downtown cores.

Autumn also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from The University of Ottawa, where she was active in campus-wide animal welfare organizing. They bring to Nature Canada years of experience in grassroots organizing and non-profit work.

Outside of work, you can find Autumn out on a hike, birding, swimming or reading a good book with a cup of coffee!
