Amy VanTorre joined Nature Canada in 2026, bringing with her a diverse mix of experience in communications, nonprofit administration, information technology, and project management. She thrives in roles that call on her to use a variety of skills in service of a good cause.

Her passion for nature was nurtured from a young age growing up on McKee Treaty 2 land in southern Ontario, the traditional lands of the Ottawa, Potawatomi, Chippewa and Huron Nations. From plants and animals to soil and weather, she is fascinated by the science and stories of nature and how the whole system works together.

In her free time Amy enjoys taking long woodland walks, creating art in both digital and traditional media, and volunteering to improve the online presence of local charities and nonprofits.
