Ted leads Nature Canada’s domestic and international bird conservation initiatives and the Nature Caretakers program.
Between 1998 and 2002, Ted wrote or co-wrote 20 Community Conservation Plans for Important Bird Areas in Ontario. Ted is trained in the use of Miradi, open standards conservation project management software, and has also studied the impact of urbanization on forest birds for the City of Waterloo, Ontario for 17 years.
Ted holds a Master Bird Banding permit, co-founded and is a long-term director of the Bruce Peninsula Bird Observatory, and sits on the Steering Committee of the Canadian Migration Monitoring Network
Ted is also an avid outdoors enthusiast, enjoying birding, running, cycling and Cross-country skiiing in Gatineau Park with his wife, family and friends.
