Nature Canada

How Can We Help You Get Through the Weeks Ahead?

We want to hear from you!

Many things are on hold and up-in-the-air right now. The Nature Canada team is working from home and, like you, grappling with the new reality of life under quarantine. We have families and pets, loved ones young and old. We’re relying on nature now more than ever before to help us navigate the unmarked trail ahead.

We’ve also been thinking back to our origins as an organization. Did you know Nature Canada was first established as a nature publication? Canadian Nature magazine was created by Reginald Whittemore in 1939 and published for 65 years.

Inspired by our roots, in the coming weeks we’ll be sharing more stories, activities, and resources to help you and your family stay entertained and engaged during the COVID-19 pandemic. We’ve already started sharing more content on our blog:

Graham Saul, our Executive Director, also wrote a letter about how nature can help us cope and stay grounded through the next few weeks.

The Nature Canada blog isn’t the only place to find new content. We also have an active presence on Facebook, Twitter (@NatureCanada), and Instagram (@NatureCanada_), and will be publishing exclusive content through these platforms.

So, what stories and topics would you like to see covered by Nature Canada? Is there a naturalist we should profile? A bird you’ve always wanted to learn about? Other information we can provide to help you navigate the weeks ahead?

We’re here to listen and respond—please send your ideas via the form below or send a message to one of our social media accounts.

Editor’s note: This blog post was updated on Monday, March 30 to reflect the shift in language from “social distancing” to “physical distancing.”

Nature Canada thanks the frontline medical workers for their efforts during this time. We follow the advice of the World Health Organization and Health Canada. Please visit these two websites for the latest information on how to protect you and your family from COVID-19.

Nature is also important to our health and well-being and we hope you’ll consider supporting our efforts to save it. Thank you for caring!

Yours in nature, the Nature Canada team.
