From protecting ocean areas to restoring prairie grasslands to fighting for the legal rights of rivers, First Nations, Métis, and Inuit people are defying centuries of oppression and reasserting their place as leaders in land and water stewardship across Turtle Island.
Nature Canada is inviting our members and supporters to explore the colonial history of conservation with us. It’s time for all nature-lovers to understand and show support for Indigenous rights, knowledge and leadership across this country.
Together we’ll share stories of challenges and victories in Indigenous stewardship and keep you informed on how we’re fulfilling our reconciliation commitments. We’ll also let you know when there’s a key moment to raise your voice for nature in support of those efforts.
