Emily McMillan, Executive Director of Nature Canada, has been chosen as an 2024 Honouree in Canada’s Clean50 Award (https://www.clean50.com), created in 2011 by Delta Management Group to annually identify, recognize and connect 50 sustainability leaders from every sector of Canadian endeavor.

“Emily McMillan was chosen after rigorous screening and research by Delta Management, with advice from internal researchers and external advisors,” says Gavin Pitchford, CEO of Delta Management Group.  “She was among Honourees selected from an initial pool of well over 1,000 well-qualified nominees.”

Canada’s Clean50 Awards are announced annually by Delta Management Group and the Clean50 organization to recognize those 50 individuals or small teams, from 16 different categories, who have done the most to advance the cause of sustainability and clean capitalism in Canada over the past 2 years.

The leader in each of the 16 categories is also declared to be part of the “Clean16″, designating those 16 individual Honourees as the top contributor in each of their respective categories. Emily was chosen as the top contributor in the “Advocates” category.

The official recognition reads as follows: “Leaving no stone unturned, whilst leading the organization’s vision to ‘discover, defend, and restore nature,’ Emily has effectively collaborated with 800 different groups within Nature Canada’s Nature Network and through a NatureBus Tour, rallied thousands of individual Canadians to write letters, all to push government to deliver on Canada’s commitment to safeguard 30% of its lands and waters, resulting in a soon-to-be-released comprehensive federal biodiversity action plan with accountability legislation baked in.”

“I am delighted and honored to share the news that the Delta Management Group has chosen me as the recipient of a 2024 Clean16 Award,” says Emily. “ It is with immense pride and humility that I accept this award on behalf of the entire Nature Canada team.”

Emily will be among approximately 130 past and incoming Clean50 Honourees meeting on Thursday, September 28th, at the “Clean50 Summit 13.0” in Toronto, to spend a day amongst peers and colleagues, tackling critical sustainability challenges facing Canada.
