Canada’s IBA program is co-delivered by Nature Canada and Bird Studies Canada, the national co-partners of BirdLife International. This event focuses on Nature Canada’s collaborative work in Ottawa-Gatineau to celebrate, raise awareness of, better protect and monitor birds and nature in the Lac Deschênes-Ottawa River IBA in concert with local naturalist organizations. The IBA is situated in the heart of the National Capital Region on the Ottawa River.

Interviews may be scheduled before the event. Photo ops will be staged during the ceremony. Representatives from the host organizations will be available briefly after the ceremony for media interviews.
