Send Your Message of Hope: The World is Listening at NatureCOP
Celebrating a Major Victory
In June, the federal government heeded our call to release its long-awaited 2030 Nature Strategy and corresponding accountability legislation. Congratulations, we made history together — we demanded an action plan with teeth and we got it!
The Reality & Seizing Opportunities
Successful implementation of the Strategy is a tall order, as is the task of holding all parties accountable.
To help make that happen, we have identified key moments and opportunities for Canadians to rise together and make our voices heard. One such opportunity is the upcoming COP16 gathering of international leaders (or NatureCOP, as we call it) which is being held from late October to early November in Colombia. And we are sending messages of hope for everyone at the conference to see. Send your Message of Hope now →
A Quick Look Back
You may recall, for COP15 in Montreal (December 2022) we collected thousands of letters from concerned Canadians as our NatureBus travelled across the country and delivered them to the Prime Minister at the start of COP15. He even quoted some of the messages in his opening address to the conference delegates. [Flashback]
Those calls to protect nature resulted in the 2030 Nature Strategy and the Nature Accountability Bill. Your voice had a definite impact.
Reaching Beyond Our Borders
In time for the next NatureCOP in October, we are adding our Messages of Hope to the voices from around the world, urging Canadian and international leaders alike to make good on their promises. These messages will be shared throughout the conference as reminders (and inspiration) for the leaders that they have a responsibility to current and future generations.
This is a key moment along the timeline of civilization.
The time is NOW to make our voices heard! Send your message of hope:
For inspiration:
“I hope for a world where access to a healthy environment is the norm no matter where you live.”
“My message of hope is for a world where all life is precious and valued for generations to come.”
“I hope for a sustainable world where nature can thrive alongside everything our society needs to function.”
