Your stories matter. Making your letter personal is key in getting your message across to editors. Think of it as a sales pitch: why should the government invest in the nature you love? Think: 

• Why does protecting nature matter to you? 
• What are some local species you care about? 
• What lake or river could you not live without? 

The more you highlight specific nature hotspots near you (lakes, rivers, etc.), the more powerful your letter will be. Don’t be afraid to flaunt your nature knowledge, but don’t worry if you don’t know everything about ecosystems – every letter counts.
