Call for Proposals: Website Redesign for Nature Canada
Overview
Nature Canada is seeking proposals from experienced digital agencies or solution providers to redesign and redevelop our primary website, naturecanada.ca. The goal of this project is to build a modern, accessible, and audience-focused website that reflects our mission, expands our reach, and supports our strategic objectives. We anticipate launching the new site in early Q1 of 2026.
We are inviting agencies to collaborate with us in defining detailed project requirements during the early phases of the engagement. Here are the project categories and scope:
Discovery
The selected vendor will work closely with Nature Canada to:
- Facilitate stakeholder workshops or interviews.
- Define and validate user journeys and audience segments.
- Identify key site goals and success metrics for different audiences.
- Develop a sitemap and functional requirements list.
Audit
The vendor will be expected to:
- Conduct a content audit of the current website.
- Analyze existing navigation, user flows and analytics data.
- Evaluate current SEO, performance, and accessibility baselines.
- Provide recommendations for content restructuring, archival, or enhancement.
Design
Key responsibilities include:
- Creating wireframes and high-fidelity mockups for key templates and pages.
- Ensuring all designs follow accessibility best practices (WCAG 2.1 or higher).
- Collaborating on UX decisions informed by the Discovery and Audit phases.
Deployment
The vendor will:
- Build and test the site on a recommended, scalable, and secure CMS platform (TBD).
- Migrate necessary content from the existing site including the facilitation of internal vetting of existing content and pages.
- Conduct QA and user testing.
- Provide training for internal staff.
- Offer post-launch support for a defined transition period (to be proposed by the vendor).
Submission Requirements
Please include the following in your proposal:
- Company overview and relevant experience.
- Case studies or examples of similar projects.
- Approach and methodology for each of the four project phases.
- Project timeline with major milestones.
- Team bios and roles.
- Budget estimate with clear cost breakdown.
- Proposed support and training plan.
Evaluation Criteria
Proposals will be evaluated based on:
- Understanding of Nature Canada’s needs and goals.
- Demonstrated experience and technical capability.
- Creative and strategic approach.
- Accessibility and user-centered design practices.
- Cost effectiveness and value.
- References and past client satisfaction.
Additional Notes
- Platform selection is open and should be recommended by the vendor based on project needs.
- The site must be bilingual (English and French) or support future bilingual expansion.
- The vendor should propose a defined support period post-launch and outline training options.
