Make South Okanagan-Similkameen Our Next National Park!

Your voice can help establish Canada’s newest national park reserve and protect close to one-third of British Columbia and Canada’s rare and endangered species.

The federal government is seeking feedback on establishing the South Okanagan-Similkameen National Park Reserve in Canada’s only desert, an area home to Cougars, Rocky Mountain Sheep, Badgers, Hummingbirds, Western and Mountain Bluebirds, Yellow-breasted Chats, Golden Eagles, Red-tailed Hawks, Tiger Salamanders and Gopher Snakes.

A national park reserve in the South Okanagan would protect more species at risk, more endangered habitat types, and encompass a greater diversity of ecosystems than any national park in Canada.

This consultation ends on February 28, 2019 so let Ministers McKenna and Heyman know your views right away by using the petition below.

The more of us who show we care about the B.C.’s grasslands, the more likely that the federal and B.C. governments will move quickly to establish the park. Please add your voice today!
