Nature Canada Celebration to Honour Margaret Atwood and the Late Graeme Gibson

Nature Canada hosts virtual story-telling event to award Margaret and Graeme the Pimlott Award for their work as champions for birds and nature.

Unceded Algonquin Territory, Ottawa, ON (February 14, 2022) — Nature Canada will recognize Margaret Atwood and the late Graeme Gibson with their highest conservation honour, the Douglas H. Pimlott Award, for their amazing achievements and legacy of love for birds and nature.

This event brings together special celebrity guests and dignitaries to artistically showcase the power of the arts to inspire action for nature. The event will highlight Margaret Atwood and the late Graeme Gibson’s impact for birds in Canada and globally. 

Ms. Carol Off, award-winning broadcaster will host the evening’s tribute.

Nature unites us. Birds in particular have brought us moments of joy, hope and happiness across the pandemic. Guests will be informed, entertained and inspired to connect with and take collective action for nature in their own communities. Nature Canada will highlight efforts to save bird lives in cities and towns across Canada and the importance of Indigenous-led conservation as we advance reconciliation.
