Nature Canada

Go Green @ Home

Nature Canada is excited to announce that next Friday June 5th, on World Environment Day, we will be launching a new virtual interactive fundraising event. Save the Date – the event will go live next week, stay tuned!

During these strange times, we can still grow together for nature, even as we are apart. Here is your chance to strengthen your local ecosystem, nurture nature, stay close to home, and help raise money for Nature Canada’s Restoration Fund.

This virtual fundraising event is focused on connecting with nature near your home. Spend time gardening in your backyard, tend to your houseplants, build a birdhouse or participate in the many other ways you can help nature thrive near your home. We hope to encourage Canadians to grow more greenery at home and to nurture nature in the same way that it is nurturing us during this stressful time.

Our Nature Restoration Fund was built to restore nature in Canada, connect people with nearby nature and protect wildlife by:

  • Restore Nearby Nature: Provide support for community actions that will restore nature/biodiversity, such as helping nature groups do crucial restoration work like planting trees or removing invasive species;
  • Protect Wilderness and Wildlife: Advocate for new and expanded protected areas and restoration of threatened habitats that are home to species at risk; and
  • Connect with Nature: Time spent in nature is good for our mental and physical health. Help us educate and encourage Canadians to reap the incredible health benefits of spending more time in nature.  Your Go Green @ Home project will restore nature around your home and raise funds to restore nature from coast to coast to coast.

Stay tuned for more information about how you can protect wildlife and restore nature!  Contact Cheyanne at crichardson@naturecanada.ca if you have any questions or would like to be involved.
