He believes that Indigenous-led conservation and reconciliation are the path forward.<\/p>\n<p>He holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in environmental studies, regional planning and resource management from the University of Waterloo. As a bird specialist, Ted contributed to Canada\u2019s landmark State of the Birds: 2012 and 2019 Reports and the State of North America\u2019s Birds: 2016, and authored or co-authored numerous other publications and presentations related to bird conservation.<\/p>\n<p>Ted also has a long history of fieldwork and research, both as a citizen scientist as a conservation professional where he has studied the impact of urbanization on forest birds for the City of Waterloo, Ontario for 20 years. He co-founded and is Past President of the Bruce Peninsula Bird Observatory and is a Master Bird Bander. Ted is also an avid outdoors enthusiast and naturalist, enjoying birding, cycling, canoeing, mushrooming, cooking, and cross-country skiing with his wife, family and friends.<\/p>\n<p>En tant que directeur naturaliste, Ted \u0153uvre que les travaux de Nature Canada s&#8217;appuient sur des informations pr\u00e9cises en mati\u00e8re d&#8217;histoire naturelle et qu&#8217;ils soient pertinents pour la conservation et la restauration de la nature. Il est \u00e9galement l&#8217;auteur ou le coauteur de nombreuses autres publications et pr\u00e9sentations relatives \u00e0 la conservation des oiseaux.<\/p>\n<p>Ted a \u00e9galement une longue exp\u00e9rience du travail sur le terrain et de la recherche, \u00e0 la fois en tant que b\u00e9n\u00e9vole et en tant que consultant, o\u00f9 il a \u00e9tudi\u00e9 l&#8217;impact de l&#8217;urbanisation sur les oiseaux forestiers pour la ville de Waterloo, en Ontario, pendant 20 ans.
