Winners will be notified by email. All submitted artwork must be drawn by a child 15 years of age or younger and submitted by a parent or guardian over the age of 18.
Nature Canada’s goal is to encourage more young Canadians to get outdoors and connect with nearby nature while staying safe and respecting wildlife. NatureHood focuses on connecting youth from diverse backgrounds with nearby nature and reducing barriers to participation faced by marginalized communities.


Rules
CONTEST PERIOD:
The Nature Canada ‘Draw your Dream Day in Nature’ Contest, (the “Contest”) begins on October 12, 2022 at 12:01 AM Eastern Time and ends on October 27, 2022 at 11:59 PM Eastern Time (the “Contest Period”).
AGREEMENT TO BE LEGALLY BOUND BY THESE RULES:
By participating in this Contest, you are signifying your agreement that you have read and agree to be legally bound by these Official Contest Rules (the “Rules”).
ELIGIBILITY:
The Contest is only open to residents of Ontario, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and Labrador, Yukon, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Alberta who have reached the legal age of majority in their province/territory of residence; except employees, representatives or agents (and those with whom such persons are living, whether related or not) of Nature Canada (the “Sponsor”), its parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, prize suppliers, advertising/promotion agencies and any other individual or entity involved in the development, production, administration, or fulfillment of the Contest (collectively, the “Contest Parties”).
HOW TO ENTER:
No purchase necessary. To enter the Contest, a parent or legal guardian who meets the eligibility criteria above must submit a Drawing and Impact Statement (defined below) created by his/her child as set out below. All submitted Drawings and Impact Statements must have been created by a child of the entrant age fifteen (15) years or younger. For greater certainty and the avoidance of any doubt, upon receipt of an Entry as set out below, the entrant in the contest shall be the child’s parent or legal guardian.
To enter, go to Nature Canada “Draw your Dream Day in Nature” webpage (the “Website”) and follow the on-screen instructions to:
- (i) upload a unique and original Drawing about what your perfect day in nature would be (a “Drawing ”) on the contest landing page;
- (ii) upload a unique and original Impact Statement (maximum 200 words) that describes the impact that winning a dream day in nature might have on you and your family and tell us a little about your family and background (an “Impact Statement”) on the contest landing page; and,
- (iii) submit your completed Drawing and Impact Statement, together with any contact information required by the Sponsor (collectively, an “Entry”).
You must provide all of the required information and follow any on-screen instructions provided to complete the foregoing requirements.
Once you have provided all of the required information and completed all of the foregoing steps to enter (as determined by the Sponsor in its sole and absolute discretion), your Entry will be eligible in the Contest.
To be eligible, your Entry must be submitted and received in accordance with these Rules (including, without limitation, the License terms set out below) during the Contest Period.
IMPORTANT NOTE: All Entries will be automatically allocated by the Sponsor to a region (each, a “Region”) or Regions, based on the jurisdiction of residence of the corresponding entrant (as indicated by the entrant at the time of entry): (a) a Regional Nature Canada Prize (defined below) Region (each, a “Regional Nature Canada Prize Region”), consisting of: (i)Victoria, BC; (ii) Vancouver, BC; (iii) Edmonton, AB; (iv) Regina, SK; (v) Midland, ON; and (vi) Halifax, NS; (b) the GTA Clif Day Camp Prize (defined below) Region (the “GTA Clif Day Camp Prize Region”), consisting of the Greater Toronto Area, Ontario; and/or (c) the Canada Hiking Gift Pack Prize (defined below) Region (the “Canada Hiking Gift Pack Prize Region”), consisting of Ontario, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and Labrador, Yukon, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, British Colombia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Alberta. and/ or (d) the Canada Stuffed Toy & Colouring Book Prize (defined below) Region (the “Canada Stuffed Toy/Colouring Book Prize Region”), consisting of Ontario, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and Labrador, Yukon, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, British Colombia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Alberta., and/ or (d) the Canada Vortex Birding Prize (defined below) Region (the “Canada Vortex Birding Prize Region”), consisting of Ontario, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and Labrador, Yukon, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, British Colombia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Alberta. All decisions regarding the Region or Region(s) into which an Entry is allocated will be made by the Sponsor, in its sole and absolute discretion, and will not be subject to consultation or challenge.
ENTRY LIMIT:
There is a limit of 1 Entry per person during the Contest Period (and, for certainty, a limit of 1 Drawing and 1 Impact Statement may be submitted per child, and each Drawing and Impact Statement may only be submitted in the Contest once). If it is discovered by the Sponsor (using any evidence or other information made available to or otherwise discovered by the Sponsor) that any person has attempted to: (i) exceed any of the limits stated in these Rules; and/or (ii) use multiple names, identities, email addresses and/or any automated, macro, script, robotic or other system(s) or program(s) to enter or otherwise participate in or to disrupt this Contest; then he/she may be disqualified from the Contest in the sole and absolute discretion of the Sponsor. An Entry may be rejected if (in the sole and absolute discretion of the Sponsor): (i) the Entry is not submitted and received in accordance with these Rules during the Contest Period; and/or (ii) the Entry is not otherwise in compliance with these Rules (all as determined by Sponsor in its sole and absolute discretion). The Released Parties (defined below) are not responsible for late, lost, misdirected, delayed, incomplete or incompatible Entries or any other Contest-related information (all of which are void).
VERIFICATION:
All Entries and entrants are subject to verification at any time and for any reason. The Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to require proof of identity and/or eligibility (in a form acceptable to the Sponsor – including, without limitation, government issued photo identification): (i) for the purposes of verifying an individual’s eligibility to participate in this Contest; (ii) for the purposes of verifying the eligibility and/or legitimacy of any Entry or any other information submitted (or purportedly submitted) for the purposes of this Contest; and/or (iii) for any other reason the Sponsor deems necessary, in its sole and absolute discretion, for the purposes of administering this Contest in accordance with these Rules. Failure to provide such proof to the complete satisfaction of the Sponsor within the timeline specified by the Sponsor may result in disqualification in the sole and absolute discretion of the Sponsor. The sole determinant of the time for the purposes of this Contest will be the Contest server machine(s).
PRIZES:
The prizes available in the Contest consist of: (i) three (3) GTA Clif Day Camp Prizes (defined below), only available to entrants allocated to the GTA Clif Day Camp Prize Region; (ii) six (6) Regional Nature Canada Prizes (defined below), only available to entrants allocated to the Regional Nature Canada Prizes Regions (one (1) Regional Nature Canada Prize is available per Regional Nature Canada Prizes Region); (iii) ten (10) Canada Hiking Gift Pack Prizes (defined below), available to entrants allocated to the Canada Hiking Gift Pack Prize Region; (iv) ten (10) Canada Stuffed Toy/Colouring Book Prize, available to entrants allocated to the Canada Stuffed Toy/Colouring book Prize Region and (v) four (4) Canada Vortex Birding Gift Packs (defined below) available to entrants allocated to the Canada Vortex Birding Gift Pack Prize Region.
GTA CLIF DAY CAMP PRIZE DESCRIPTION
There will be 3 GTA Clif Day Camp prizes (each, a “GTA Clif Day Camp Prize”), available to entrants allocated to the GTA Clif Day Camp Prize Region (for certainty, the Greater Toronto Area, Ontario). Each GTA Clif Day Camp Prize consists of:
- Experience Clif Day Camp experience in the GTA with a total approximate retail prize value of $400.00CAD. Admission (and, if applicable, any ticket(s)) is subject to the terms and conditions of the event host and of the host venue, which must accepted as awarded and is not transferable, assignable or convertible to cash (except as may be specifically permitted by Sponsor in its sole and absolute discretion). No substitutions except at Sponsor’s option. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to substitute any this prizing or a component thereof with a prize of equal or greater retail value, including, without limitation, but at Sponsor’s sole and absolute discretion, a cash award. All costs not expressly indicated above as forming part of this prizing are the applicable confirmed winner’s sole responsibility. All characteristics and features of this prizing, except as otherwise explicitly described above, are at the Sponsor’s sole and absolute discretion. The Released Parties (defined below) will be in no way responsible in the event that any part of the event is delayed, cancelled, postponed or rescheduled for any reason whatsoever.
- Outdoor Clothing Attire – A minimum of $500.00 CAD of outdoor clothing per family member will be gifted, and assuming up to a family of four, this is a total approximate retail prize value of $2000.00CAD. The characteristics and features of the merchandise (except as otherwise explicitly described above) are at the Sponsor’s sole and absolute discretion. The merchandise must be accepted as awarded and is not transferable, assignable or convertible to cash (except as may be specifically permitted by Sponsor in its sole and absolute discretion). No substitutions except at Sponsor’s option. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to substitute this prizing or a component thereof with a prize of equal or greater retail value, including, without limitation, but at Sponsor’s sole and absolute discretion, a cash award.
- Two Pairs of Vortex Binoculars – two pair of Vortex Diamondback HD 8X32 binoculars ($369.00CAD ea) will be gifted to each family and this is a total approximate retail prize value of $738.00CAD. The characteristics and features of the merchandise (except as otherwise explicitly described above) are at the Sponsor’s sole and absolute discretion. The merchandise must be accepted as awarded and is not transferable, assignable or convertible to cash (except as may be specifically permitted by Sponsor in its sole and absolute discretion). No substitutions except at Sponsor’s option. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to substitute this prizing or a component thereof with a prize of equal or greater retail value, including, without limitation, but at Sponsor’s sole and absolute discretion, a cash award.
REGIONAL NATURE CANADA PRIZE DESCRIPTION
There will be 6 Regional Nature Canada prizes (each, a “Regional Nature Canada Prize”), 1 Regional Nature Canada Prize available per Regional Nature Canada Prize Region (for certainty, one such prize is available to entrants allocated to (i) Victoria, BC, (ii) Vancouver, BC, (iii) Edmonton, AB, (iv) Regina, SK, (v) Midland, ON, and (vi) Halifax, NS). Each Regional Nature Canada Prize consists of:
- Nature Canada outdoor nature experience: i) Victoria – Nature Sound Mapping adventure with a total approximate retail prize value of $80.00 CAD for a family of four (2 prizes to be awarded) i) Victoria – Nature Sketch Art course with a total approximate retail prize value of $105.00 CAD. ii) Vancouver – Nature Wild magazine subscription with a total approximate retail prize value of $25.00 CAD, iii) Edmonton – Birding Adventure with a total approximate retail value of $500.00 CAD; iv) Regina – Guided Tour of a National Wildlife Area with a total approximate retail value of $120.00 CAD for a family of four (2 prizes to be awarded): v) Midland, ON choice of Guided Snowshoe or Canoe trip with an approximate value of $150 for a family of two; and vi) Halifax – Birding and Nature Walk with an approximate retail value of $200 CAD for a family of four. CANADA HIKING GIFT PACK PRIZE DESCRIPTION
There will be 10 prizes (each, a “Canada Hiking Gift Pack Prize”). Each Canada Hiking Gift Pack Prize consists of:
- Box of 12 Clif energy bars with a total approximate retail prize value of $16.00CAD.
- A Clif Water Bottle with a total approximate retail prize value of $25.00 CAD
- Nature Canada merchandise, including but not limited to a hat and hiking pouch, with a total approximate retail prize value of $50.00 CAD.
There is a limit of one (1) Canada Hiking Gift Pack Prize per person.
CANADA STUFFED TOY/COLOURING BOOK PRIZE DESCRIPTION
There will be 10 prizes (each, a “Canada Stuffed Toy/Colouring Book Prize”). Each will consist of:
- A stuffed Canoe with Bear, Moose, Beaver and a Loon Toy wildlife characters and a Colouring Book with the corresponding Wildlife cartoon characters with a total approximate retail prize value of $25.00 CAD.
There is a limit of one (1) Canada Stuffed Toy/Colouring Book Prize per person.
CANADA VORTEX BIRDING GIFT PACK DESCRIPTION
There will be 4 prizes (each, a “Canada Birding Gift Pack Prize”). Each Canada Birding Gift Pack Prize will consist of:
- A pair of Vortex Diamondback HD 8X32 binoculars with a total approximate retail value of $368 CAD
- Vortex merchandise, including a Toque, T-shirt, logo patch, decal and a Water Bottle with a total approximate retail prize value of $55.00 CAD.
- Nature Canada merchandise, including but not limited to a hat and bird guide pouch, with a total approximate retail prize value of $50.00 CAD.
There is a limit of one (1) CanadaVortex Birding Gift Pack Prize per person.
Collectively, all of the prizes described in these Rules (regardless of prizing level) will be referred to as the “Prizes“.
PRIZE WINNER SELECTION PROCESS:
A panel of judges (the “Contest Judges”) appointed by the Sponsor at its sole and absolute discretion will judge and assign a score (each, a “Score”) to each Entry on the basis of the following weighted criteria (the “Judging Criteria”):

Each entrant whose Entry obtains a top Score as set out below will be selected as a potential Prize winner:
- each entrant whose Entry, allocated to the GTA Clif Day Camp Prize Region, obtains one (1) of the top three (3) Scores from among all GTA Clif Day Camp Prize Region Entries will be selected as a potential GTA Clif Day Camp Prize winner;
- each entrant whose Entry, allocated to one (1) of the six (6) Regional Nature Canada Prizes Regions, obtains the top Score from among all Entries allocated to such Regional Nature Canada Prizes Region will be selected as a potential Regional Nature Canada Prize winner;
- each entrant whose Entry, allocated to the Canada Hiking Gift Pack Prize Region, obtains one (1) of the top ten (10) Scores from among all Canada Hiking Gift Pack Prize Region Entries will be selected as a potential Canada Hiking Gift Pack Prize winner.
- each entrant whose Entry, allocated to the Canada Stuffed Toy/Colouring Book Prize Region, obtains one (1) of the top ten (10) Scores from among all Canada Stuffed Toy/Colouring Book Prize Region Entries will be selected as a potential Canada Stuffed Toy/ Colouring Book Prize winner.
- each entrant whose Entry, allocated to the Canada Vortex Birding Gift Pack Prize Region, obtains one (1) of the top four (4) Scores from among all Canada Vortex Birding Gift Pack Prize Region Entries will be selected as a potential Canada Vortex Birding Gift Pack Prize winner.
The odds of winning depend on the number and calibre (based on the Judging Criteria) of eligible Entries per Region. In the event of a tie between two or more Entries allocated to a Region based on Score, the entrant associated with the Entry – from amongst all such Entries that are tied – with the highest score on the Impact Statement noted above will be deemed to have obtained the higher Score. Judging is scheduled to be completed on or about October 28, 2022 (a “Selection Date”).
WINNER NOTIFICATION PROCESS:
The Sponsor or its designated representative will make a minimum of 2 attempts to contact each potential Prize winner (using the information provided at the time of entry) within 1 business days of the Selection Date. If a potential Prize winner cannot be contacted within 1 business days of the Selection Date, or if there is a return of any notification as undeliverable; then he/she may, in the sole and absolute discretion of the Sponsor, be disqualified (and, if disqualified, will forfeit all rights to the applicable Prize) and the Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion and time permitting, to select an alternate potential Prize winner following the same applicable winner selection procedure described above (with the necessary amendments), in which case the foregoing provisions of this section shall apply to such new potential Prize winner.
WINNER CONFIRMATION PROCESS
BEFORE BEING DECLARED A CONFIRMED PRIZE winner, each potential Prize winner will be required to sign and return within One (1) business days of notification the Sponsor’s declaration and release form, which (among other things): (i) confirms compliance with these Rules; (ii) acknowledges acceptance of the applicable Prize (as awarded); (iii) releases the Contest Parties, including Clif Bar and Co., LLC and its parent company and each of their respective officers, directors, employees, agents, representatives, successors and assigns (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from any and all liability in connection with this Contest, his/her participation therein and/or the awarding and use/misuse of the applicable Prize or any portion thereof; and (iv) agrees to the publication, reproduction and/or other use of the potential winner’s name or other likeness without further notice or compensation, in any publicity or advertisement carried out by or on behalf of the Sponsor. If each potential Prize winner: (a) fails to return the properly executed Contest documents within the specified time; (b) cannot accept (or is unwilling to accept) the Prize (as awarded) for any reason; and/or (c) is determined to be in violation of these Rules (all as determined by the Sponsor in its sole and absolute discretion); then he/she may, in the sole and absolute discretion of the Sponsor, be disqualified (and, if disqualified, will forfeit all rights to the applicable Prize) and the Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion and time permitting, to select an alternate eligible entrant following the same winner selection procedure described above (with the necessary amendments), in which case the foregoing provisions of this section shall apply to such new potential Prize winner.
GENERAL CONDITIONS:
All Entries become the property of the Sponsor. The selected drawings will be considered to be copyright-free and may be used for promotional purposes by the Sponsor.
License – By entering the Contest and submitting an Entry, each entrant (and his/her minor child): (i) grants to the Sponsor, in perpetuity, a worldwide, non-exclusive, license to publish, display, reproduce, modify, edit, make available, communicate to the public by telecommunication and otherwise use his/her Entry (and each component thereof), in whole or in part, for advertising or promoting the Contest or for any other reason in any type of media; (ii) waives all moral rights in and to his/her Entry (and each component thereof) in favour of the Sponsor (and anyone authorized by the Sponsor to use such Entry ); and (iii) agrees to release and hold harmless the Released Parties from and against any and all claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from use of his/her Entry (or any component thereof), including, without limitation, any claim based on publicity rights, defamation, invasion of privacy, copyright infringement, trade-mark infringement or any other intellectual property related or other cause of action whatsoever.
This Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws. The decisions of the Sponsor with respect to all aspects of this Contest are final and binding on all entrants without right of appeal, including, without limitation, any decisions regarding the eligibility/disqualification of Entries and/or entrants. ANYONE DEEMED BY THE SPONSOR TO BE IN VIOLATION OF THESE RULES FOR ANY REASON IS SUBJECT TO DISQUALIFICATION IN THE SOLE AND ABSOLUTE DISCRETION OF THE SPONSOR AT ANY TIME.
The Released Parties will not be liable for: (i) any failure of any website during the Contest; (ii) any technical malfunction or other problems of any nature whatsoever, including, without limitation, those relating to the telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment or software; (iii) the failure of any Entry or other information to be received, captured or recorded for any reason whatsoever, including, but not limited to, technical problems or traffic congestion on the internet or at any website; (iv) any injury or damage to an entrant’s or any other person’s computer or other device related to or resulting from participating in the Contest; and/or (v) any combination of the above.
Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, by participating in the Contest, each entrant releases the Released Parties from any and all liability in connection with this Contest and his/her participation therein.
In the event of a dispute regarding who submitted an Entry, the Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to require any individual who purports to be the entrant that submitted the Entry in question to provide proof to the complete satisfaction of the Sponsor (as determined by the Sponsor in its sole and absolute discretion) of being the entrant that submitted such Entry. Failure to provide such proof to the complete satisfaction of the Sponsor within the timeline specified by the Sponsor may result in disqualification (as determined by the Sponsor in its sole and absolute discretion).
The Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole and absolute discretion to withdraw, amend or suspend this Contest (or to amend these Rules) in any way, in the event of any cause beyond the reasonable control of the Sponsor that interferes with the proper conduct of this Contest as contemplated by these Rules, including, without limitation, any error, technical problem, computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud or technical failure. Any attempt to deliberately damage any website or to undermine the legitimate operation of this Contest in any way (as determined by Sponsor in its sole and absolute discretion) is a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made, the Sponsor reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law. The Sponsor, at its sole and absolute discretion reserves the right to cancel, amend or suspend this Contest, or to amend these Rules, in any way without prior notice or obligation, in the event of any accident, printing, administrative, or other error of any kind, or for any other reason whatsoever.
By entering this Contest, each entrant expressly consents to the Sponsor, its agents and/or representatives, storing, sharing and using the personal information submitted with his/her Entry only for the purpose of administering the Contest and in accordance with Sponsor’s privacy policy (available at: (https://naturecanada.ca/privacy-policy/).
This section does not limit any other consent(s) that an individual may provide the Sponsor or others in relation to the collection, use and/or disclosure of their personal information.
The Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole and absolute discretion to adjust any of the dates, timeframes and/or other Contest mechanics stipulated in these Rules, to the extent necessary, for purposes of verifying compliance by any entrant or Entry with these Rules, or as a result of any technical or other problems, or in light of any other circumstances which, in the opinion of the Sponsor, in its sole and absolute discretion, affect the proper administration of the Contest as contemplated in these Rules, or for any other reason.
In the event of any discrepancy or inconsistency between the terms and conditions of these Rules and disclosures or other statements contained in any Contest-related materials or website(s), including, but not limited to: and entry form, and/or point of sale, television, print or online advertising; the terms and conditions of these Rules shall prevail, govern and control to the fullest extent permitted by law.
