Alison joined Nature Canada in June 2022 as Manager of Donor and Partner Relations, Major Gifts, and the Women for Nature initiative.
Originally from Thunder Bay, Alison brings to the role over two decades of experience in the environmental sphere that includes managing an environmental education centre and founding a variety of grassroots initiatives. Prior to moving to Ottawa in 2022, Alison was busy running the sustainable trekking company she founded nearly a decade ago with a parallel mission to Nature Canada’s: connecting people to nature – mostly in the fragile biodiversity of the Amazon and Galapagos Islands. Most trekkers also planted trees as part of the reforestation project she founded in 2014 near her second home in the Ecuadorian cloud forest.
Alison is a passionate lifelong learner with a Political Science degree from the University of Guelph that included two semesters at Moscow State University. She enjoys time outdoors, hiking in forests, doing just about anything in or on the water, and is thrilled to be working alongside this dynamic team of fellow nature lovers!
