What we do

Nature Canada / What we do
Nature Canada is a member-based nature conservation charity. Our network includes more than 80,000 members and supporters and more than 350 naturalist organizations in every province across Canada. Our mission is to protect and conserve wildlife and habitats in Canada by engaging people and advocating on behalf of nature. We focus on effecting change on issues of national significance including bird conservation, wilderness protection, endangered species and connecting people to nature.
NatureCaretakers is our program providing community stewardship of local bird habitat across Canada. These volunteers are on the front lines of nature conservation in Canada.
Our NatureNetwork is a large and powerful network of local, regional and provincial naturalist groups and charities with a passion for nature conservation across Canada.
At the federal level, NatureVoice is the term we use for our advocacy work, encouraging the federal government to adopt more environmentally friendly policies.
With NatureWatch and NatureHood, Nature Canada empowers Canadians to study nature and inspires people in urban centers to learn about, understand and connect with nature in their local community.

NatureHood is our initiative connecting city-living Canadians with nature in their home towns.
