Media Advisory: Nature Canada Spokesperson Available to Comment on the Latest Assessments by the Committee on the Status of Endangered Wildlife in Canada

Nature Canada Biologist Jean Langlois is available to speak with journalists in response to the latest recommendations of COSEWIC, the independent science body that met in Ottawa, Ontario from November 22 to 26 to assess the status of 35 wildlife species.

Mr. Langlois will be available to comment, after COSEWIC’s embargo is lifted Monday November 29 at 2 pm eastern time, on the following topics:

  • What the latest COSEWIC recommendations say about the state of wildlife in Canada
  • Canada’s track record in protecting species at risk
  • What is needed for endangered species to recover
