Bird Tweet of the Week: Rose-Breasted Grosbeak
The male Rose-breasted Grosbeak will spend long periods on the nest each day and will even sing from the nest. The male and female take turns incubating their eggs in the nest. They will breed in our region in late April and head to South and Central America again for the winter in mid-September.
Each week we introduce a new bird from the Ottawa-Gatineau area. Alex MacDonald, Nature Canada’s Manager of Protected Areas, shares interesting facts about the birds that live in our communities. Catch up on past episode here on our website.
