Our coalition’s experts to contest EnCana’s submission starting Tue, Oct. 14

The Suffield hearings continued all this week (and will go on for another 2, approximately), with more cross-examination of EnCana’s experts by our counsel and Henry Binder from our coalition. On Tuesday Henry did an amazing job challenging the basis for EnCana’s claim that they can’t recover the gas by using the existing 1000 wells.
Then there was discussion about cumulative effects- quite an interesting one, as EnCana claims to have no impact on ANYTHING!!
On Wednesday EnCana was talking about 240km of pipeline for 2″ pipe, and 100km of 4 or 6″ pipe… hmmm…doesn’t add up to the 220 km they said they were doing…
After the coalition’s cross-examination, it was the Government of Canada’s turn to cross-examine EnCana. There were some very interesting conversations about how EnCana has delivered (or not) on its commitments from 1972… and some discussion on snake mortality.
You can listen to recordings of the hearings or read the transcripts on the CEAR website.

I’m off to the hearings next week to see the coalition’s experts contest EnCana’s submission, starting Tuesday afternoon October 14, 2008. I’ll be reporting back, so check for updates…
