"Near my home in Grande Prairie, Alberta is a reservoir that non-mating Trumpeter Swans have congregated on for the past few years. This year there was as many as 12 at one time: last year up to 14."

"It's very difficult to sneak up on Trumpeter Swans but I was fortunate one day in July to get close enough to these two for this photo."

"This area is one of the primary breeding grounds for the Trumpeter Swans; in fact, Grande Prairie is known as 'The Swan City'. They are a truly magnificent bird."
