I thought I would send you this photo I took of a Mountain Bluebird in the Kamloops area.

Thanks for sharing this wonderful photo with us, Dave! It's always striking to see how the plumage of these birds matches so perfectly with the blue of the sky.

A chunky, medium-sized songbird, the Mountain Bluebird prefers more open habitats than either the Eastern or Western bluebirds. Where its range overlaps with these other species, the Mountain Bluebird will exclude the other bluebirds from its territory. This bird can also be found outside its normal range in winter, venturing into colder habitats.
