| The Nature Nation E-Newsletter Photo of the Month
The year 2006 has been one of dream fulfillment for me. This past year I found a fox den and was able to spend exciting days observing and photographing these animals. After many futile trips to nature parks trying to get a glimpse of a fox, imagine my thrill when, on Montreal’s famous Mont Royal, I came across a tiny fox kit waddling in the grass and then looked beyond to see the beautiful mother only yards away nursing four more kits! I am in awe that such wildlife exists in the middle of a metropolis like Montreal. I could watch the foxes cavort and play on the mountain’s summit while in the background the city stretched out for miles and at dusk the city lights glittered in every direction. Over the past several months I have photographed and filmed the progress of these curious, lively young creatures as they have matured into fine foxes. My sojourns to this special place have been enhanced by the beauty and companionship I find with the foxes, raccoons and other abundant wildlife and I am deeply grateful for the way they have enriched my life.
