Frog Identification Guide

Pacific Treefrog (Hyla regilla)

  • 1.9 to 5 cm
  • Only found in B.C.
  • Call is a repeated series of two short, high-pitched notes
  • Calling begins in early spring, but may continue most of the year
  • Can vary from green to black
  • Has a black eyemask and usually a series of broken stripes down back
  • Breeds in temporary or permanent wetlands
