NAC Family Day Event was a huge success!

[two_third]

Thank you to everyone who came out to made bird themed masks with us.  We also want to extend a thank you to the National Arts Centre (NAC) for hosting this hugely successful event.

What a turnout! The NAC estimates that over 3000 people attended the event. We had over 150 children visit our booth to make a mask and were wowed by the outpouring of creativity. Each mask was a unique work of art. Here are the ones we made.

We had a great time talking to people about the Important Bird Area (IBA), Lac Deschênes, found right here in the heart of the National Capital Region. Lac Deschênes is recognized as a globally significant IBA because it is one of the larger bodies of water in this region that waterbirds depend on  during their spring and fall migrations. It’s a great place to see birds and other wildlife, or to just get out for a walk or bike ride. Check out the website here to learn more about this site and the IBA program.
